Introduction
The Sacred Forest Pack is a pack of canines that believe in three different omnipotent deities. The pack is focused on healing, spirituality, and life. Pack members are expected to follow the beliefs of their deities, and new members are accepted if and only if they agree to accept the lifestyle. The pack relies on rituals and offerings to their deities to show their appreciation and faith, but the pack does not focus mainly on the deities themselves, but on their belief system.
The Deities
There are three deities in the pack's belief system. One genderless, one masculine, and one feminine. The genderless god, Avteus, created the masculine god, Fenrir, and the feminine goddess, Ithys.
Avteus
Avteus is the genderless god, and also the oldest, according to the pack's beliefs. Avteus is represented by a slate gray wolf with emerald green eyes, and three tails. It is said, according to the old tales, that Avteus created the Sacred Forest, and created two lower deities from himself - Fenrir and Ithys. Avteus is the genderless god, meaning that he is looked up to by all, regardless of their gender or pack status. He is the keystone god, meaning he merges both traits of Fenrir and Ithys together. Avteus represents all traits ranging from kindness to fury, and many wolves pray to him before selecting one patron god or goddess.
Fenrir
Fenrir is the masculine god, and is the twin deity of Ithys, created by Avteus. He is represented by a solid black wolf with shimmering golden eyes. Fenrir represents the physical qualities of wolves - speed, strength, endurance, stability, etc. Fenrir is the opposite of Ithys, who focuses on the emotional qualities. Fenrir is also the god of the hunt and war. Many wolves like hunters and warriors look up to Fenrir to give them strength before a fight, or speed for a hunt.
Ithys
Ithys is the feminine goddess, the twin deity of Fenrir, created by Avteus. She is represented by a solid white wolf with bright blue eyes. Ithys represents the emotional qualities of wolves - courage, happiness, luck, etc. Ithys is also the goddess of motherhood and healing, and many female wolves pray to her to watch over them during gestation and birth. Ithys is looked up to by healers and shamans, to help aid them in their healing practices.
Belief System
The Sacred Forest Pack relies on a belief system based around their god and goddess. Each wolf is expected to live by the belief system, and those who break one of the rules are either given a chance to forgive their sin and reclaim the trust of the gods, or are driven away by the pack members.
The Beliefs
1.) No wolf shall harm another unless in danger.
2.) All prey hunted must be respected in death.
3.) During the full moon, wolves shall lie beneath the moon to sleep, to gain the gods' energies.
4.) Offerings to the gods are to be done individually.
5.) Prayers to the gods must be ended with a howl, to signify one's faith.
6.) Rituals must be held as a pack.
7.) Newborn pups, new mating pairs, and new pack members are to all have rituals dedicated to them.
8.) No wolf shall be left behind.
