| Xena ll 8 Months ll Dhole ll Sacred Forest
Usually, the little pup was plenty happy with lounging around the pack lands and playing with anything she could find. But, right now she was bored with the common stories of Gods and how they would guide her. She was a pup and she needed to be able to play and stir up trouble. Today, she had found herself in what appeared to be an old junk yard for dogs. Xena wasn't the smoothest of canines, she didn't pay much attention when it came to just snooping around. But, today, it was the shiny items that had pulled her out of her shell. There were tools and rusted cars that her baby teeth were just dying to chew.
She was so excited over them that she didn't even bother to scent the air and just went running in. Big mistake. A severe barking rung her mind and she immediately bolted. But, the dog was hot on her heels. A sharp yelp and the little pup raced under a car, her tail tucked between her legs and her paws hugging the top of her nose. It wasn't long before the bigger dog rumbled a groan, gave up, and left. Some pups would immediately leave after the encounter, but not Xena, she was too curious. Crawling out the back side, she wandered to the tool section, trying them out in her mouth until she settled with a wrench. It tasted tingly and funny, but hey it was something to play with. The little pup rolled around on the ground chewing and batting it around with her paws, playful growls erupting from her throat.

. K a j y n n . Kajynn sighed as she entered the awful junkyard, disgusted. This was no where near her beautiful forest. It reeked, for one. The scents of so many other canines rattled in the air made her cringe in the at the realization no one had cared to come back to defend it. All of this was just so foreign to her, and it made her miss the organization of her homeland. The furthest she'd ever gone from Sacred Forest was the infested rat-maze that was Town Square. But this? This was far worse. Putrid and degrading in every way imaginable.
"To think -- I am a warrior. I should be guarding the borders, not searching for the lost orphan child." She spat, scoffing at the notion. Out of all the mutts in her pack it was the warrior Tallulah had seen fit for the job. 'You know what lies beyond the pack lands, therefore you have a better chance of finding her.' As much as she appreciated the praise, she could surely beg to differ. If anyone, it should have been Lunar. Gods knew he could never stay in one place for more than a heartbeat, and both he and the pup were... small? Oh, her logic was childish, she'd admit. She supposed it had rather a lot to do with her undying hatred for anything beyond home. Things were flawed, broken here. Ithys must have been appalled when the two-legged beasts tore down her gorgeous forests and corrupted it for their own purposes. Such a thought made her want to leave this place immediately and flee back to the pack lands. But she was given a job, and as much as she loathed it, she would not fail to bring her young pack mate back home.
"Now, where is the little scoundrel?" The collie muttered with a frown of concentration as she scoped out the area. A sudden fit of vicious barking caught her attention, and she leaped into action, heading with swift feet towards the source of the sound.
"Yelp!"
Oh, Fenrir, had it gotten to Xena? No. That wasn't the familiar sharp whine of a victim begging for mercy, for she knew it well. Hell, on most occasions she'd been the one to cause it. Yes, it was only a yelp of fright. Kajynn listened further while she inched a bit closer to watch the scene unfold. The dog rumbled in defeat before turning and leaving the little Dhole be. Thank the Gods, she would not return a failure after all. Waiting a moment for her to make her leave as well, she found the stupid little mongrel had crawled out the back of the strange contraption and began playing with an abandoned human metal-stick.
"Of all the idiotic things..." Had the pup no common sense at all? Trotting up to the dawdling child, she snarled at her angrily. "What is the matter with you? You do realize the proper thing to do after being confronted by a creature you can't fight is run don't you?" Kajynn sat and lowered her gaze to the pup's level, but she was not finished. "What if he were to come back right now and find you --" She snatched the metal-stick from her in a rage, "... Playing with this? He would swallow you whole, that's what, you're nothing but an afternoon snack to him! By Fenrir, you're coming with me." She growled, preparing to leave this Godsforsaken place once and for all.

The little pup had been so focused on playing with the human tool she hadn't even caught Kajynn's scent when she walked up to her - though Xena didn't really know her name. The Dhole was better at matching scent, appearance, and personality. Knowing who she liked and respected and those she simply didn't. This canine she wasn't all too familiar with. She was aware she wasn't nice however and the way she stormed up to the pup only proved it. "What is the matter with you? You do realize the proper thing to do after being confronted by a creature you can't fight is run don't you?" The other female was saying and Xena pinned her ears back and shook her head. Her stubborn personality and lack of respect for the other canine killing off her innocent personality. "OR, You don't be such a coward by running. You fit yourself into a place you know they can't get and laugh as they get frustrated at trying to get you out." There was a hint of sarcasm and a light of mischievous in her eyes as she back talked the other canine. She wasn't afraid of her, why should she be?
Xena snarled as her play toy was ripped away, lunging at the other female with tiny, bared teeth, as she took her metal item away from her. "I outran him and outsmarted him. Therefore, I think I passed the little test. If he came back, coulda done it again." She snarled, snapping at the white and black dogs paws until she gave Xena her metal toy back. "You want one of these so bad, go find your own." She growled, wrapping her paws tightly around the precious toy. "No, you can go back, I'm plenty content here." She barked, pulling her lips up to show her teeth placed in what could almost be considered a grin. This dog wasn't her mother or her Alpha, therefore, Xena saw no point in listening to anything she said.
