Tikka 2 Yrs. Female Chihuahua Loner
Long, fluffy coat. Base color is a very light, almost peachy buff color. No markings. Apple headed. Dark brown, almost black eyes. Weighs four pounds. Six inches tall at the shoulder.
Skittish in general, but grows a little friendlier when you convince her you don't want to eat her. Very naive. Can be clingy. Has abandonment issues. Does not take kindly to being ignored. Mischievous.
Bred from two showdogs. Sold to a man in Westover as present for his daughter. Was doted on and spoiled by said daughter until the family decided to move. They dumped Tikka in the town square in order to avoid paying a dog tax when they moved, assuming that someone would scoop her right up. No one has.
Threads: the morning grind [open]: Tikka wakes up and begins her morning routine. As she's attempting to find breakfast she meets Sadie (Fall), a Lab mix, and Elliot (Quirky Tea), a Rough Collie x Greyhound ghost. The three of them begin conspiring to steal a meal from a nearby popcorn vendor.

Darwin 2 Yrs. Male Standard Schnauzer Loner
Has the wiry, pepper-and-salt coat typical of his breed. Long 'beard' and 'eyebrows.' Eyes the color of black coffee. Cropped ears and docked tail. Fifty five pounds. Twenty inches tall at the shoulder. Speaks with a very slight German accent.
Patient, tolerant, and intelligent. Extremely loyal to and protective of his humans. Alert almost to the point of paranoia. Loves human children but can be awkward around puppies. Mildly sexist; believes females to less skilled at protecting themselves than males and does his best to make it so that they don't have to lift a paw, even if they protest.
Darwin was born, raised, and trained as a guard dog in Germany. At around one year old, a small family in Westover bought him and shipped him to the US. They were growing fearful of the rising feral and stray dog populations and wanted every form of protection possible, including that of the canine variety. While he is loved and played with like a pet, Darwin's main duty is to protect them.

Giorgiano 3 Yrs. Male Great Dane x Irish Wolfhound Experimentals
A genuinely massive animal. Stands forty five inches high at the shoulder and weighs around one hundred seventy pounds. Standing on his back legs he is roughly seven feet, five inches in height. He looks like a broader-chested, more heavily boned, smooth-coated Irish Wolfhound. The Great Dane in him shows more in his face than anywhere else. He has their deep-set eyes, broader muzzle, and longer ears. His coat is solid black with no markings. Giorgiano's eyes are such a light shade of blue that they almost look white, the stark black of his pupils making an extremely unsettling contrast. Along the back of his neck there are countless small injection scars. Between his shoulder blades is a scar roughly an inch in length, caused by the surgical removal of his ID microchip. Lift his left lip and you'll see a small dark-colored tattoo consisting of a short combination of numbers and dashes. An attempted removal has left it too blurry to read.
The experiments performed on Giorgiano seem to have almost entirely shut off his consciousness, possibly as a way to cope with the physical and mental trauma that was inflicted on him. It's still there, sorta, a brief flickering of humanity buried deep in the snarly tangle of his mind. He basically operates entirely on instinct. He doesn't care about the lives, loves, or motivations of other creatures. All that Giorgiano has on his mind is finding food, water, and shelter. When he's found it he'll fight to the death to defend it, a tendency developed due to his conditioning in the facility. He is intensely fearful of sharp objects, needles, and water. Any ladies eyeing him would do best to look elsewhere; that same conditioning has almost entirely shut off his sex drive in an attempt to create a dog with an intact male's testosterone that wouldn't get distracted by the opposite sex. It is possible, however, to form a bond of sorts with him. His natural desire for companionship was strengthened with training in the facility. While he will not seek out actual packs, being afraid of their large numbers, he will attempt to create a small 'pack' of his own with one or two other dogs for the purpose of finding food and shelter. He communicates entirely in basic canine vocalizations and body language, his language skills being locked away with his 'real' personality. Whether or not he can be returned to even a somewhat normal mental state remains to be seen.
Giorgiano was bred and raised in Westover's largest research facility. His parents were a pair of Luxes, the two largest in the facility's breeding program. Giorgiano and his siblings were taken from their mother shortly after birth and were hand raised separately to keep them from forming bonds with other canines. Being the largest of the litter, Giorgiano was kept for further experimentation while the rest of his siblings were trained to become full-fledged Luxes. They gave him a condensed version of the training regiment and conditioning of a Lux, wanting one for experimentation to see if pre-existing Luxes could be improved without actually wasting a Lux as a test subject. He was injected with and then cured of dozens of diseases, repeatedly drowned and resuscitated, cut open and examined, put through different, intensive exercise regiments, used as a test subject for various diets, and so on. (The point here being that they used him to get a better understanding of a Lux's physiology and how to improve on it.) When budget cuts forced them to downsize, they decided to get rid of Giorgiano. After removing his microchip and partially removing his lip tattoo, they dumped him on the edge of town.
note: parts of his personality, history, and appearance were inspired by The Plague Dogs by Richard Adams, Watchers by Dean Koontz, and Felidae by Akif Pirinçci.

Khan Noonien Singh 3 Yrs. Great Dane x Irish Wolfhound x Greyhound Luxes
A heavier-boned, somewhat more compact Wolfhound or Greyhound. The Great Dane in him gave him a somewhat broader head and muzzle, as well as deeper set eyes, a more defined stop, and chiseled features. His short, slick coat is a peculiarly glossy shade of black without a single marking. Has cropped ears. His eyes are a lovely shade of blue-green. Has a small black tattoo on his left lip, his ID number. There is a long row of injection scars down the back of his neck and another somewhat larger one between his shoulder blades. Stands forty five inches high at the shoulder and weighs one hundred fifty pounds.
Natural born leader. Quick-thinking and intensely loyal to and protective of his subordinates. Ruthless. Extremely patient. Excellent liar. Methodical. Never lets go of a grudge. Loyal to the humans over him but grows less trusting of them every day. Views Luxes as mentally and physically superior to other canines. Disdainful of strays. Does not tolerate ignorance or incompetence. Ever-growing ego. Is typically bitingly critical of others.
history coming.
Injuries incurred over the course of the roleplay include: a bite to his left front leg from Epic/Skie (played by Alarice.)
Threads: Bring Me To Life (open): Khan goes on patrol in Banner Park. There he chases down and kills a stray, meeting Epic/Skie (Alarice) moments after. The two of them get into a fight after Skie growls at a nearby human. Khan pins her and forces her into submission. Shortly after more humans, these with cameras, show up. They team up in an attempt to scare them off. Everything goes wrong when Skie notices a policeman with a taser. She attacks him and is promptly tased. The policeman attempts to call in reinforcements, but Khan snatches the walkie-talkie out of his hand and flees with it, buying Skie time to get away.
prowling [alarice]: Khan is sent out on patrol with another Lux named Sinestriss (Alarice.) He notices that her handler leads her in on a chain and seems hesitant to allow her to go out without human supervision
note: blood relative of Giorgiano. Exact relationship unclear.
